Sensory Integration
Sensory Integration is a process where the brain receives sensory information from the five sense organs and processes it into an appropriate response. One of the most useful evaluation tools for children with sensory processing difficulties is the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT). Sensory integration is the form of therapy in which fun, dynamic, creative tasks are used to strengthen and integrate the patient's sense of touch (tactile), sense of balance (vestibular), and sense of where the body and its parts are in space (proprioceptive). Use of swings, climbing equipment like ladder, rock wall, ball pool, etc., adds a lot of therapeutic fun and the right amount of challenge to unfold an individual’s potential. This, in turn, can stimulate attention, support academic learning, social-emotional experiences, and overall problem-solving abilities.

Sound-based Intervention
Sound-based Intervention (SBI) is intended to support individuals with sensory processing dysfunction, predominantly with listening, attention, and communication. Such intervention involves listening to electronically modified music to highlight parts of the sound spectrum that naturally capture attention to assimilate new neural pathways into the nervous system. It significantly improves biological rhythms (bladder/bowel control, sleep/wake cycles), social participation, self-regulation, tolerance, attention, and communication. Sound-based intervention is often implemented as part of a comprehensive, multi-faceted therapy program, along with other interventions.

Handwriting Hopscotch
Handwriting is a crucial parameter in a child’s learning assessment. Difficulty in handwriting hints at developmental problems resulting largely from inadequate eye-hand coordination and motor skills. At Theraphil, we carefully evaluate the child’s muscle strength, endurance, coordination, motor control, and other associated components of handwriting. Based on the observations from this analysis, we combine different intervention approaches to improve the child’s writing skills. Parents are also included in this program to encourage home-based activities for better results.

Reading Program
Reading skill immensely contributes to academic success and self-regulation. Engaged reading, however, is affected by variables like interest, motivation, performance skills, material familiarity and self-efficacy. Our holistic approach to the reading program goes beyond developing reading skills. We focus on increasing engagement in reading as an occupation so that the child can use skills more effectively and efficiently. It increases motivation, the confidence of self-mastery, greater engagement in academic, leisure, and functional reading at home, school, or the community.

Home Program
Theraphil provides families with a home program to extend the benefits of occupational therapy. Since the parent/guardian/caretaker spends more time with the kids, such a program can achieve the best outcomes for the child. By implementing these evidence-based modules, parents can get involved with the children’s goals to help them attain academic success, social engagement, and emotional growth. This includes training the parents for efficiently handling the different behavioural attributes of the child, viz., focus, discipline, and areas of interest.

Whole Brain Integration
The human brain requires both its sides (left & right) to achieve its maximum potential. With the help of proven therapeutic interventions and tasks, our whole brain therapy helps to enhance and integrate communication between both sides of the brain. These integrated exercises create strong neural pathways which result in improved focus and revived learning abilities. This also helps in promoting whole brain functioning and establishes a strong base for enhancing cognitive abilities.

Cognitive Enhancement Program
As children grow, they may confront issues related to cognitive development without showing any visible signs of it. Our cognitive enhancement therapy is designed to improve overall cognitive abilities like general mental capability involving reasoning, problem-solving, planning, abstract thinking, complex idea comprehension and experiential learning. The collective gains from regular cognitive interventions channelize the child’s strength in the right direction. It leads to the child’s realization of his/her true potential and acquires the skill sets required to excel in the real world.
